The 1600

We rescued 1,600 young hens from an abandoned farm, giving them a second chance at life. Meet some of these beautiful girls who are thriving at the sanctuary!

Rooster Bachelor Flock

We care for around 100 rescued roosters, many abandoned simply for being male, giving them safe bachelor flocks to live freely with dignity and care.

Cookie, our sik hen having a bath

Cookie (happy in her bath - not)

A resilient little hen who is fighting cancer, she's doing so well and is back outside free ranging, we are keeping a close eye on her of course!

Our baby duck

Ellie

Ellie was found by the river struggling and exhausted. On examination she was found to only have one leg, a birth defect that she is learning to live with.

Ex battery hen peaceful in our sanctuary

Isa Battery Hen Rescue

We recently had an opportunity to rescue 320 Isa Brown hens raised in a 'grower shed'. They were due to be killed due to their very poor condition.

Jay our baby turkey

Baby Jay

Jay was sadly rejected by mum and has been hand-raised by us; he (maybe she) is the apple of our eye. He is now learning to get along with the big turkeys!

Jenny our darling piggy

Jenny

With her playful spirit and recent role as a mother to three adorable piglets, Jenny has brought joy and laughter to our sanctuary. Join us in supporting them!

Mildred and George our rescue chickens who were dumped in a bush

Mildred & George

Mildred is a little hen dumped along with 4 roosters to fend for themselves (likely the dumpers thought she was another rooster) and she only just survived it.

three little pigs

Three Little Pigs

Unexpected babies! Our male pig is neutered but the female wasn't, a wild boar busted through the fence and three months later...the three little pigs arrived!
