Rooster Bachelor Flocks
Our sanctuary is home to around 100 rescued roosters, cared for between us and our sister team Rooster Rescue & Rehoming NQ. Many of these boys have been abandoned or surrendered, often facing uncertain futures simply for being roosters—too many others are lost to cars or dogs before they ever get help. Here, they are given space to live safely in bachelor flocks, free to scratch, forage, and express their natural behaviours without fear. Each one has his own personality—from bold protectors to gentle, curious souls—and all are valued, respected, and given the chance to live out their lives with dignity and care.

Boys Zone
Our sanctuary is home to around 100 rescued roosters, cared for between us and our sister team Rooster Rescue & Rehoming NQ. Every one of these boys is here for the same reason—simply because he is a rooster. Unwanted, often misunderstood, and too frequently abandoned, their stories are sadly common.
We are called to pick them up from roadsides, bushland, and backyards, where they’ve been left to fend for themselves. Too many others never make it that far. Roosters are regularly hit by cars or killed by dogs after being dumped, and it’s a reality we see far too often. The ones who arrive here are the lucky ones.
At the sanctuary, they are given what they’ve never had—safety, stability, and space. Many of our boys live in carefully managed bachelor flocks across large, open areas where they can scratch, forage, dust bathe, and interact naturally in calm, balanced groups. Some are also part of our mixed flocks, living alongside the girls and taking on their natural role within the group.
Each rooster is an individual. Some are bold and protective, others gentle and curious, some shy, some full of personality. Over time, many learn to trust again. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of what we do—watching a frightened, discarded rooster settle into a life where he is no longer in danger.
We don’t believe any animal should be disposable. Here, every rooster is valued, respected, and given the chance to live out his life with dignity. They may have started unwanted, but they do not stay that way.
